Sometimes you may have an unexpected problem. If this happens, your first step is to call The Advocacy Team at 888-276-0250 or VEBA Direct’s Third Party Administrator (UnitedHealthcare) at 888-586-6365. We will assist you and attempt to find a solution to your situation.

If you believe you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away. You do not need prior authorization to receive emergency care if you reasonably believe treatment is needed to prevent serious harm.

After receiving emergency care, you—or someone acting on your behalf—must notify VEBA Direct’s Third Party Administrator (UnitedHealthcare) or your primary care provider (PCP) within 24 hours, or as soon as reasonably possible. This allows your PCP to coordinate follow-up care.

When you call, please be ready to provide the facility name and location and a brief description of the services you received.
