Information we collect
California Schools VEBA ("CalVEBA") collects information you provide and information generated as you use our services, so we can administer your benefits and support your care.
This includes contact and identity details (such as name, address, email, and phone number); eligibility and enrollment information provided by your employer or district; benefits and claims information needed to coordinate your coverage; and technical usage data — such as device type, browser, and pages visited — collected automatically when you use the MyVEBA portal or our website.
How we use your information
We use your information to enroll you in coverage, verify eligibility, process and coordinate claims, and connect you with the programs, classes, and care navigation services included in your membership.
We also use it to communicate important updates about your benefits, improve our digital tools, respond to your questions, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to deliver your benefits — for example, with the health plans and carriers that provide your coverage, with service providers who support our operations under written confidentiality agreements, and with your employer or district for eligibility administration. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
Data security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Access is limited to personnel who need it to do their jobs, and sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
