Caring for someone else can be meaningful, demanding, and complex. This two-part virtual series is designed to help caregivers build a practical toolkit, strengthen personal well-being, and better understand available supports. Sessions will include guidance on self-care, nervous system reset practices, disease-specific support, Medicare-related considerations, respite options, and local, state, federal, legal, and community resources. Participants Will Learn How To: Build a practical caregiver toolkit with self-care and support strategies. Identify domains of self-care that support long-term caregiver sustainability. Explore support for caregivers balancing aging parents and children with disabilities. Practice nervous system reset techniques for immediate use. Learn about progressive neurodegenerative disorders and disease-specific resources. Connect with caregiver resources across local, state, federal, Medicare, respite, legal, and community support systems. Part 1 You Matter Too: Self-Care for Caregivers This session focuses on caregiver wellness and sustainability. Participants will explore ways to build a caregiver toolkit, understand key domains of self-care, receive support for the “sandwich caregiver” experience, and practice nervous system regulation and reset strategies they can use immediately. Topics include progressive neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, disease-specific support, local/state/federal caregiver resources including IHSS for low-income seniors, Medicare limitations, dementia-related resources, and respite care options.
